I feel fortunate to have served patients and families in diverse communities and clinical settings and I enjoy bringing both my experience and my enthusiasm to Dartmouth Health Connect. My special clinical interests include promotion of wellness through preventive health activities, integration of physical with emotional and behavioral health, and team-based management of chronic illness (with patients themselves at the center of the team.) I believe strongly in empowering individuals to make informed decisions that honor their own health needs and priorities.
I trained in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and completed my Family Medicine residency in 1993. I then moved to the southwestern United States to serve as a family physician with the Indian Health Service. In 2003 I came to VT, and was privileged to serve for 8 years as a family physician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Family Medicine in Hanover, NH.
When not caring for patients, I enjoy time with my wife and our two growing boys. I love hiking, cooking, reading and writing. I feel especially passionate about music, and sing regularly with the Dartmouth Handel Society here in Hanover.
